Upon completing work at Hacımusalar, I returned to Italy to complete work that I started early in the summer on 12th century opus sectile pavements. Aided by the Raven Fellowship from the University of Virginia, I was fortunate enough to be able to rent a car to drive from Catania to Viterbo, stopping off at Rossano (Calabria), San Demetrio Corone (Calabria), Salerno (Campania), and Sant’Agata de’ Goti (Campania), to look at the pavements of these churches. I made some headway in my research, which will hopefully allow me to publish an article on these pavements within the next year.
