Water at Vulci

This past summer (2022), I joined the team at the Vulci3000 Project (Duke University), as they explored an area along the decumanus. Despite the numerous periods of use over time, from the Etruscans to the Imperial period, what was truly striking was the amount of water-related infrastructures that are being uncovered.

I was thrilled to be able to assist a colleague to help finish the excavation of the cistern, which received proper stratigraphic excavation. Our work was featured in a recent post on Art & Object–so take a look at the work that we were doing this summer!
